The WÜRTH MODYF ISMF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in Spain are officially confirmed
Lausanne, 13 February 2023 – Jointly with the Local Organising Committee, the ISMF is pleased to confirm the World Championships to be held from 27 February to 5 March 2023 in Boí Taüll, Vall de Boí, Alta Ribagorça, Pyrenees, Spain.
The programme of the event is available at any time on the event website.
Please note that the participation in the scheduled Team Captain Meetings of at least one coach or one athlete or one representative person of each participating nation is highly recommended.

Registrations:
The registrations for the World Championships races open tomorrow, 14 February 2023, and will close on Thursday 23 February 2023 at h. 23:59 CET. After that date, registrations will be no longer possible. We will be very restrictive about this deadline. In this regard, we kindly remind you the link where you can register your athletes: http://www.ismf-ski.org/webpages/competitions/register-to-ismf-races/. Before registering in any ISMF World Cup or Championships, athletes must have their own valid ISMF licence. You can check the current valid licences here. In case of any issue in the online registration process do not hesitate to get in contact with the ISMF Office by clicking on “help” in any page during the registration procedure or at valeria.ponzo@ismf-ski.org – mob. +39 334 7022775.
The ISMF kindly reminds that for the World Championships there is a maximum quota of participants for each category (Men & Women) for each race (22-23 ISMF Regulation regarding Registration and Participation in ISMF competitions – point 2 and related subparagraphs – available here). However, it is possible to find the quota summarised as follows:
- Individual, Sprint and Vertical races:
Senior: 4 M and 4 W
U23: 3 M and 3 W (total of 7 seniors M and 7 seniors W)
U20: 4 M and 4 W
U18: 4 M and 4 W
- Team race:
Senior: 4 teams M + 4 teams W
- Mixed Relay:
Youth: 2 teams
Senior: 2 teams
In relation to quota, the ISMF points out that there will be the bonus of an additional registration for each gold medal awarded in the past in the same category of pertinence as follows:
- Individual, Sprint and Vertical races:
Rankings of the last World Championships (2021 – Comapedrosa Andorra) will be taken into account.
- Team race:
Ranking of the 2019 World Championships (Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland) will be taken into account, since this discipline has not been organised during the 2021 WCH.
- Mixed Relay race:
There will be no bonus, as per ISMF Rules.

Furthermore, as per 22/23 ISMF Regulation regarding Registration and Participation in ISMF competitions – point 2 and related subparagraphs, the ISMF informs that for the World Championships the national federation has to make a global registration before the event. Afterwards, coaches can modify the registrations as follows:
THE DAY BEFORE EACH RACE
- The day before each race, from 13:00 to 14:00: possibility to register additional athletes in the offices at the ski resort (penalty of 100% – amount to be paid in € in cash).
- The day before each race, from 13:00 to 14:00: possibility to replace athletes in the offices at the ski resort (already registered in the World Championships) for free.
COMPOSITION OF THE TEAMS
- Team race: the composition of the teams taking part in the scheduled Team race has to be communicated to the ISMF office through WhatsApp (private message to +39 334 7022775) no more than Wednesday 1 March 2023 until 14:00 indicating the names of the athletes competing for each team (SW + SW / SM + SM) and also the order of the teams (NF 1 + NF 2).
- Mixed Relay race: the composition of the teams taking part in the scheduled Mixed Relay race has to be communicated to the ISMF office through WhatsApp (private message to +39 334 7022775) no more than Saturday 4 March 2023 until 14:00. As per ISMF rules (Guidelines for Organising (Technical doc) – p. 17 – available here), the composition of the teams for the Mixed Relay has to be as follows:
- Youth: 1 (U20M or U18M) and 1 (U20W or U18W) – Order to be followed: W-M-W-M (The composition of the team cannot change from the qualification phase to the final)
- Senior: 1SM and 1SW – Order to be followed: W-M-W-M (The composition of the team cannot change from the qualification phase to the final).

Further information – important:
The WhatsApp group named “ISMF WCH Competitions” will be used as channel of communication. Therefore, at least one coach/athlete/representative person of each team participating in the WCH must be present in this group.
