World Cup action continues this weekend in Andorra
Andorra, 18 January 2024 – It’s been merely a week since the 2024 European Champions were crowned in France and we are ready for some more skimo action. The best skimo athletes of the planet are going this weekend to Andorra for the ISMF Comapedrosa World Cup, second stop of the circuit for this season, and with a Vertical and Individual race on the menu.
Athletes from 17 countries will line up this weekend, including really strong profiles such as Giulia Murada or Emily Harrop (who both missed the European Championships due to illness), Alba de Silvestro, Ana Alonso, Celia Perillat-Pessey or on the men’s side, Remi Bonnet, Thibault Anselmet, Matteo Eydallin, Robert Antonioli, Xavier Gachet, Oriol Cardona or William Bon Mardion, just to name a few.
Comapedrosa is one of the classic stops on the ISMF circuit, and for the 2024 edition the athletes will have an Individual race on Saturday, with 1660+m planned for the Senior Men, with five ascents, four descents and two segments on foot, and 1420+m planned for the Senior Women, including four ascents, four descents, a short climb to the finish and two segments on foot.
The Vertical race in Comapedrosa, planned for Sunday, is one of the classic events on the circuit, with most of the athletes having raced here multiple times. 720+m, 3.5 kilometers of fast and furious action that spectators would be able to enjoy not only live at the event, but also from everywhere in the world, as the vertical race will be live streamed worldwide on the ISMF Youtube platform as well as on the Olympic Channel platform.
