Shahdag, 8 January 2025 – We step into this new year with a thrilling competition program starting here in Azerbaijan.
After the season’s opening in the iconic French Alpine resort of Courchevel, we arrived in an entirely different setting: at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, in Shahdag Resort, located at the eastern edge of the Greater Caucasus Mountains.

Follow the ISMF World Cup Shahdag from January 10 to 13, 2025!
The ISMF World Cup Shahdag is set to host about 130 SkiMo athletes, including 25 nations.
New nations are joining the competition
Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkish delegations are making their debut in the competition this season. And Qatar will be competing for the first time ever here in Shahdag. A significant step forward for our sport, which continues its international growth.
First international ski event hosted in Azerbaijan
Since 2022, the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation (WSF) has promoted ski mountaineering and hosted the ISMF plenary assembly in 2024, marking significant progress in the sport.
Azerbaijan’s national ski mountaineering team, already represented in the ISMF World Cup Courchevel, will have the opportunity to defend their nation, leveraging their familiarity with the rugged terrain of the Greater Caucasus.
