International University Championships endorsed by FISU at the ISMF Youth World Cup in Berchtesgaden

«International University Championships endorsed by FISU» is a special classification for University students to award the title of Ski Mountaineering University Champion 2024.

At the ISMF Youth World Cup in Berchtesgaden, Germany, there will be the first international event for University students before the FISU World University Games 2025 to be held in Turin, Italy (13-23 January 2025). The concerned competition will be the Vertical race to be staged on Saturday 17 February.

 

Registration

Depending on which kind of event the athletes would like to participate in, registration can be made via:

  • The ISMF intranet system for the respective Youth World Cup through the ISMF National Member of belonging (ISMF licence compulsory);
  • The website of the organiser www.jennerstier.de for the Open Race, according to the age category of each athlete (U18/U20 or Senior – over 21y) – https://time2win.at/event/539.

 

For International University Championships endorsed by FISU only active students according the FISU eligibility rules will be classified:

  • Athletes registered-studying in a University-College;
  • Be at least 18 and no older than 25 years of age on 31 December of the year of the event (i.e., born between 1 January 1999 and 31 December 2006).

 

The student card will be requested at the time of accreditation to verify the eligibility of the participants into International University Championships endorsed by FISU.

 

About the ISMF:

Founded in 2007, the ISMF is the global governing body for competitive ski mountaineering. Since 2016, the organisation has been officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee. Its main goals are the promotion, regulation and development of the sport of ski mountaineering worldwide. Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, the ISMF’s membership consists of 47 national federations located in Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania. The ISMF organizes ski mountaineering Senior and Youth World Cups, as well as Masters and World Championships. For the first time, ski mountaineering was a medal sport at the 2020 Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, Switzerland, and has been included in the programme of the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympic Winter Games.
