A sunny day welcomed the opening of the competition in Puy Saint Vincent, providing ideal conditions for the Sprint Race—one of the most intense and explosive disciplines. This edition of the Youth World Cup set a new record, with 105 athletes representing 21 nations. The racecourse, set at 2,100 meters above sea level near the TSD Bergerie Chairlift, offered breathtaking views while adding the challenge of altitude to the competition. The world champions from Morgins seeking a final shot at glory and category leaders aiming to solidify their standings, the stakes were high. Among the strongest contenders were athletes from Switzerland, France, and Spain, making for a fiercely competitive event.
U20 Women highlights
In the U20 Women category, China and the Czech Republic took the lead in their semifinals, controlling the race from start to finish. In Semifinal B, Austria and Germany showed promise with strong starts, but Spain made a fierce push in the final transitions. The finals were led by Czech athlete Eva Matejovicova, who dominated from the beginning, holding onto her lead until the finish line. Behind her, China’s Yuzhen Cidan and Germany’s Helena Euringer battled for second and third, with Cidan taking second and Euringer claiming third.

U20 Men highlights
The U20 Men category saw an exciting series of semifinals, with Andorra and Italian athletes leading the pack. In the final, China’s Bi Yuxin started strong, but it was the Italian teammates, Lorenzo Milesi and Luca Curioni, who took control in the final stretch. The race turned into a head-to-head battle for gold, with Milesi clinching first place, Curioni taking second, and Bi securing third.

U18 Women highlights
In the U18 Women category, Switzerland dominated Semifinal A, securing their spot in the finals with a confident lead. China, on the other hand, took control in Semifinal B, showcasing their strength as they advanced with ease. As the finals unfolded, it was China that initially led, but Switzerland and Spain fought back hard, especially in the foot section, where the competition reached its peak. In the end, China’s Ani Pumu claimed victory, while Italy’s Giorgia Pollini secured second place. McCall Birkinshaw of the USA took third, rounding out a podium that truly showcased the diversity of the competing nations.

U18 Men highlights
The U18 Men race was equally captivating. Norway and Spain led their respective semifinals, with Spaniard Gil taking charge in Semifinal B, but facing fierce competition from a determined German athlete. When the finals came around, it was a true test of endurance. Chinese and German athletes attempted to break the pack early on, but Norway’s Aron Rodal Haugen proved to be the strongest on the downhill, crossing the finish line with a decisive victory. China’s Langjia Gongsong finished second, and Germany’s Simon Hatt secured third.

ISMF Youth World Cup Finals – Sprint track

The track featured a demanding opening section with steep diamond segments, followed by a flatter foot section allowing athletes to recover while maintaining high speed. The uphill direct line was steep from the beginning, requiring significant upper-body engagement. The downhill portion, with its off-piste and bumping sections, put athletes’ ski skills to the test.
