Trofeo Mezzalama ready to host the ISMF-LGC World Championships Long Distance Team 2024/25

Lausanne, 4 April 2025 – Jointly with the Local Organising Committee, the ISMF is glad to confirm the ISMF-LGC World Championships Long Distance Team 2024/25, Trofeo Mezzalama, which will be held on 26 April 2025 in Breuil-Cervinia – Gressoney-La-Trinité, Italy.

Technical information

Participation requirements:

  • Compulsory ISMF Elite Licence (licence A)
  • Compulsory La Grande Course Card: 30,00 €/athlete
  • Valid medical certificate

Registration fee:

  • Team (2 athletes): 800,00 €.
  • It includes (for each athlete): organisation, security and assistance services during the event, refreshment points along the track, 1 participation prize (starter gift) offered by technical sponsor, the refreshment point at the finish line, lunch on the day of the event, transportation from Gressoney-La-Trinité to Breuil-Cervinia.
  • Accommodation is not included in the registration fee.

Registration & payment:

As it is usually the case for all LGC events, each team leader creates the team and then invites his/her teammate. The invited athlete clicks on the link received and the team is made.

There will be specific fields asking for the ISMF licence number and whether the athletes intend to participate in the World Championships. Athletes will have to select “Yes” from the drop-down menu.

At the end of the process Mezzalama LOC will send an email of confirmation to both competitors.

  • Payment: The registration fee should be paid at the time of registration. If payment is not made at the time of registration, the team will remain registered in the system for 10 days, after which it will be deleted.
  • Registration period: The registration process is open until 21 April 2025.
  • Important note – if a team has already registered for the WCH LDT when registration process for the Trofeo Mezzalama was open: it is compulsory to write the first name, last name, birthdate and ISMF licence number of the athletes composing the team to valeria.ponzo@ismf-ski.org no later than 14 April 2025.

Teams’ composition:

  • The team must be composed of athletes of the same nationality and gender.
  • The composition of the teams is already definitive at the time of registration.
  • Possibility to change the team composition (in exceptional cases) by writing an email to mezzalama@trofeomezzalama.it and with valeria.ponzo@ismf-ski.org in copy.

Quotas (as per ISMF Rules & Guidelines 2024/25 – page 144):

  • 4 teams Senior M per nation
  • 4 teams Senior W per nation
  • Bonus granted by the ISMF-LGC WCH LDT of two seasons ago (the ISMF-LGC WCH LDT was cancelled in season 2023/24) as follows:
  • France for Women
  • Italy for Men

  • Most important appointments:
  • Team Captain Meeting – Technical Briefing (Friday 25/04 – h. 18:30 – in Valtournenche): the participation of at least one coach/one athlete/one representative person of each participating nation is highly recommended.
  • Award Ceremony (Saturday 26/04 – around h. 14:00): the presence in person of the athletes who should be awarded is compulsory.

About the ISMF:

Founded in 2007, the ISMF is the global governing body for competitive ski mountaineering. Since 2016, the organisation has been officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee.
